How the Waitlist Works

Join the Waitlist

After receiving your lottery result (not selected), you can opt into the waitlist. This is typically done through ScribChoice.

Timeline: You'll have a window (usually 2-3 weeks) to join the waitlist after results are posted.

Wait for Openings

Openings occur throughout the school year as families' situations change or new students enroll.

Waitlist order: Random lottery order determines who gets called first when seats open.

We'll Contact You

If a seat opens in your child's grade, we'll reach out via phone and email.

Response time: You'll have a few days to respond and confirm enrollment.

Decide

You can accept or decline. No pressure. You're in control.

If you decline: You stay on the waitlist for future openings.

What Are Your Chances?

Realistic Expectations

While we can't guarantee a seat, being on the waitlist gives you a legitimate shot. The further up the list you are, the better your chances.

Factors that increase chances:

  • • Being near the top of the waitlist
  • • Multiple openings during the year
  • • Larger grade levels (more potential openings)
  • • Legends' continued growth and expansion

We're transparent about this: not everyone on the waitlist will get a seat. But every year, some families do.

Waitlist FAQs

Is there a waitlist fee?

No. Joining the waitlist is free. There are no hidden costs.

How long am I on the waitlist?

You remain on the waitlist through June 30 of that school year. You can re-apply in future years if you wish.

Can I be on the waitlist for multiple grades?

Yes. If you applied for multiple grades and weren't selected for any, you can waitlist for all of them.

What if I applied for K but I'm interested in 1st grade?

You can stay on the K waitlist or contact admissions to discuss options for 1st grade in future years.

Can I waitlist if I applied late?

Yes. All applicants through ScribChoice (on-time or late) have the option to join the waitlist.

What happens if I accept a seat mid-year?

We'll help your child transition to Legends immediately. We provide onboarding support to ensure a smooth adjustment.
